  • Where do I begin!!!!I came to City Church about a year ago, just new into Louisiana and needed a covering over me. This was the first church I set foot in since I have been here and have remained there ever since. The Holy Spirit floods the place almost every Sunday. We have an amazing praise and worship team, amazing Bible studies on Wednesdays and every now and then we have programs and different functions that anyone can be a part of. It is definitely youth based which is good, and very family oriented. Most of all deliverance takes place and souls are being saved. The people are genuinely friendly and they would do their best to see to it that you make it to the services and just make sure you are just a part of their life. I really am honored to call this place home. I can't think of any place I would rather serve my Risen Savior at.

I used to go to this church and the bible studies held across the city are what kept me going for so long. I didn't get much from the sermon as most sermons were just one scripture and a bunch of irrelevant "opinions" that didn't have any impact on living a Christian lifestyle (i.e. one sermon was just the pastor talking about what Jesus looked like. He would say things like "God said the perfect number for man is 6, so that means that Jesus was 6 ft tall.") Then there's the bishop, the pastors father, who does the offering, and i used to cringe when he would get up because he would say things to straight up extort money from the congregation. I've been in church my entire life and I know the church has to have givers and tithers to function, but he would take it to another level. One Sunday he stood up there showed us his Rolex and told us we were poor and didn't have a Rolex because we didn't give as much as he did. Just one of many examples i could give. The congregation seemed to have, for lack of a better term, a fake eccentrics. There were people that would Sprint around the sanctuary during the sermon, not to say they weren't getting anything out of the sermon but it would happen almost every other service and out just seemed prompted more than spontaneous adoration for the goodness of God. With all that being said, they do have some good people that run the bible studies where I actually felt like a community and learned the word. Maybe they should just do Bible studies and forgo traditional church

  • City Church of New Orleans is the place to be!!! Services are Sundays at 9am and 11am & Wednesdays for 7pm. Also, there are great workshops after service on Wednesday Nights where you can learn how to walk the Christian walk right & faithfully and GROW in God. Classes range from learning the basic fundamentals of your Christian walk to classes about dating, marriage, church leadership, etc!

Strong advice to anyone. Beware.....This congregation is completely nuts and full of jealous loose females. My experience was horrible. A friend of mine recommended the church to me because I was seeking a home church. At first people come off as friendly but as I began attending and observing, most have agendas behind them. I was new but stayed completely to myself and two females I didn't even know spread false rumors about me that I was easy . These women did not know me nor did I associate with them or anyone in that church, in any kind of way... just hello to be polite and goodbye. As I discovered, they've done this to others as well for no reason. If you speak against the church you are shunned. May I add most of the congregation are fake christians doing so much underlined stuff within the church and outside of it, its ridiculous and it's even worst when leadership is aware of it and nothings done. That makes them even worst than the sinners themselves. Now yes....every church has some sort of issues and no one is perfect, but when there's an infestation, then there"s a problem. These people call themselves christians yet I've watch them judge, ostracized, etc. and I wasn't even a member. These were part of the reasons I never joined and will never go back. (Revelations 18:2...He gave a mighty shout: "Babylon is fallen--that great city is fallen! She has become a home for demons. She is a hideout for every foul spirit, a hideout for every foul vulture and every foul and dreadful animal.) and this church is definitely that!!!
    *Note to members* Remember this....
    2 Corinthians 11:13-15
13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
(keeping it real translation) stop faking christian..can't read the bible one minute , then commit forniication, adultry, etc. the next. You can't serve two masters or your eternal punishment will be great.
    Revelation 18:7-8
7 Give her as much suffering and grief as the glory and luxury she gave herself. For she keeps telling herself: ‘Here I sit, a queen! I am no widow, I will never know grief’ 8 Because of this, in one day she will be struck with plagues—disease, grief, and famine. And she will be burned with fire,
because the Lord God, who judges her, is mighty.”
(keeping it real translation) Part taking in the pleasures & luxuries of satan which includes greed, being a hypocrite, making false prophecies, doing good deeds just to be recognized, including part taking in the acts I mentioned above, etc, eventually will catch up with you & be your downfall . If you keep fooling yourself doing sinful acts then saying to yourself ...i'm cleanse in the blood of Jesus...that's not following God's word. God forgives those "who know not what they do!" So for those individuals to twist his mercy for their own gratification, they are in for a rude awaking come judgment day.
